Frequently Asked Questions
-
If your child is consistently struggling in school despite support, has trouble focusing, or is showing signs of stress, anxiety, or frustration with learning, an evaluation can help uncover why. Some families also seek evaluations to clarify strengths or explore concerns raised by teachers or pediatricians.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults. Each evaluation is customized to the individual’s needs, drawing on assessment tools appropriate for their age and presenting concerns.
-
Most evaluations involve 1–3 in-person testing sessions (each lasting 2–3 hours). From start to finish—including intake, testing, scoring, analysis, and the feedback session—the process typically takes about 4–6 weeks.
-
The results of a psychoeducational evaluation can be shared with your child’s school to help guide eligibility decisions and support planning. I also provide clear recommendations that can be considered during IEP or 504 meetings.
-
Your report will include test results, an explanation of what they mean in plain language, and specific recommendations tailored to your child’s needs. Families often find this report helpful not only for school planning, but also for sharing with tutors, therapists, or other providers.
-
At this time, evaluations are billed directly to families. I provide an itemized invoice (“superbill”) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

No special studying or practice is needed. The best preparation is simply making sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, eats breakfast, and knows that this is not a test they can “pass” or “fail.” I frame the process as an opportunity to learn about how their brain works best.
